This website was designed from the ground up using Joomla 1.5. It is a technology news & analysis distribution system concentrating on Asian Tech Markets for a large number of subscribers. It contains thousands of documents in HTML and PDF format derived from Microsoft Word original documents. Each document is exported from Word Mac using custom Applescripts for proper formatting, then the resulting PDF and HTML is imported into the website by the document coordinator. In the case of Word Dcouments, a "cleanup" script is used when importing to correct for Word ideosyncracies, add extra formatting and website functionality. For instance, each document is sectioned into a free or preview part, and a paid or subscription full document, all in a single copy. Guests can see the entire website as is, but every article will have content only for subscribers. Documents are cross-indexed (i.e. a document may exist in multiple categories), and extensive document search enhancements are provided.
